True, Ambuja Intermediates Private Limited (Ambuja) started in a small way but it never stopped it from thinking big. Keeping in view the constant upgradation of quality, customers’ satisfaction and increasing demand, the aggregate installed capacity for manufacturing Dye-Intermediates and Specialty Chemicals was rapidly increased from mere 240 MTPA in 1988 to 7,000 MTPA in 2003. Additionaly Ambuja has installed production capacity of 2400 MTPA for manufacturing various Dyestuffs and Organic Pigments. As the unprecedented growth suggests, Ambuja has already made a significant stride in the fields of Dye-Intermediates and Specialty Chemicals and today, it is a force being reckoned with in the premium segments of global market. Illustrious history of Ambuja is often quoted as ‘success story’ by the bank, financial institution and other business associates.
 

1988
Floated in the name and style of ‘Ambuja Intermediate Products Private Limited’, under an exemplary leadership of                Mr. Tilokchand C. Shah (the founder of Ambuja Group in 1978), Mr. Gambhirmal R Shah, and Mr. Mahendra Patel with an objective of setting up a Dye-Intermediates manufacturing unit on a small scale (Installed Capacity: 240 MTPA).
1991
Became India’s largest producer of Benzidine Dihydrochloride (BDH).
1992
Set up Unit No.: 2 and thereby increased the Installed Capacity upto 2,000 MTPA for Benzene based Dye-Intermediates.
1993
Stopped production of BDH in view of the notification in that regard issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, up-to-date, and started substitute products viz. DASA, F. C. Acid, DABA etc.
1996
Set up Unit Nos.: 3 & 4 for Naphthalene based Dye-Intermediates & Specialty Chemicals respectively and thereby increased the aggregate Installed Capacity upto 4,000 MTPA.
1998
Undertook the massive expansion-cum-modernisation projects in its all-4 units and thereby increased the aggregate Installed Capacity upto 7,000 MTPA.

Became instrumental in forming ‘Rajpur Industrial Association’ to look after various interests of industries located in and around the village.
1999
Converted into a Public Limited (closely-held) Company and consequently & subsequently name changed to the present one.
2000
Also became instrumental in forming ‘Mehsana Enviro Association’ to set up a secured land fill site and thereby protect the environment by arranging proper disposal of solid wastes being generated by the industries located in and around the district.
2002
Formed a strategic alliance with a Dyestuff Unit at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
2003
Developed indigenously the high profile Laser Dyes.

Also formed a strategic alliance with an Agro Unit at Gondal, Saurashtra, India.
2004 “Accredited with ISO 9001:2000 Certificate for its EXPORT Division”
