Pollution Treatment Facilities

We are committed to environment preservation. In this regard whenever newprojects are undertaken, great emphasis is given to prevention and minimising of environmental hazards. Ambuja’s Environmental Management System (EMS) is regarded as one of the best in the industry by the local legislative and regulatory bodies.

For Ambuja, commitment to ‘NATURE’ is inborn. Thus, before any expansion projects are undertaken, potential impacts thereof on the environment are identified for considering the measures to be taken for preventing/minimising the same. Ambuja’s Environmental Management System (EMS) is regarded as one of the best in the industry by the local legislative and regulatory bodies. Ambuja supports the very purpose of the Charter on CREP issued by CPCB i. e.; >“commitment and voluntary initiatives of industry for responsible care of the environment will help in building a partnership for pollution control”.

Ambuja’s Plants are well equipped with adequate resources – ample land, water and one of the best infrastructures of its kind for preventing and minimizing pollution through primary and secondary effluent treatment facilities and equipment such as scrubbers, evaporators, crystallisers, incinerators, Dryers to achieve best by-product recovery & absolute ‘Zero Effluent Discharge’.

Ambuja is committed to conserving natural resources, operating its facilities safely and minimizing the environmental impact of its activities. Thus, production processes are
constantly reviewed and, where possible, improved to minimize raw material and energy inputs, emissions and waste generation;
designed so that they generate waste materials that are reusable, recyclable or at least capable of environmentally safe disposal; and
give preference to in-process waste reduction methods over end-of-process treatment or disposal.

Due to our exemplary EMS, we, at Ambuja, achieved reduction in effluent-incineration by 25% even after increasing the production doubly; this became possible by reduction of % at source, recycling of 40% and recovery of byproducts from 42%. Ambuja most diligently adheres to stringent norms of water, air and noise pollution together vigilance in solid/hazardous wastes management. Almost all of the solid/hazardous wastes are sold to the actual users.

At Ambuja, we are aware that our technical and commercial expertise entails a responsibility to contribute to sustainable development – a principle we wholeheartedly endorse, heedful of both its social and its environmental elements. Taking the needs ofthis generation and future generation into account; ecological, economic and socialresponsibility is a matter of prime importance to us. Our aim and obligation, therefore, isto utilize resources in a sustainable and prudential manner to ensure that future generation has sufficient resources to shape their own lives.

Keeping with the philosophy of ‘Sustainable Development’ that has gained worldwide credence, we, at Ambuja resolutely believe that “Industrialization and ecology can and should co-exist.”
